Tasting notes: .Aromas of hay and dried apple. Sweet buttery oil with no bitterness and a light pepperyness. Sweet almond finish. Sound but bland.
Recommended use:Any dish where you don’t want a distinct olive flavour. Worth a try in baking.
Comment:Stated as “mild and fruity” on the label. Mild for sure, but the fruitiness was on the elusive side. Once again, a very commercial offering – nothing unexpected in this market segment, but there is nothing to distinguish this particular oil from many others which are less expensive.
I might sound a bit nit-picky here, but the plastic pouring insert lodged itself into the screwcap when opened. Anyone who buys a lot of olive oil will know that it is a very common and annoying occurrence. I wonder if anyone bothers to randomly sample bottles when they come off the line to ensure that the packaging does what it is expected to do once openend in a kitchen.
