Tasting notes: Aromas of ripe apple and pear. Thick consistency with ripe apple and sweet true buttery characters on the finish. No bitterness and with a late light to pepperyness. Overall and oil which is what it claims to be –“mild and mellow”. On the plain side but will appeal to many.
Recommended use: A good butter replacement. Delicately flavoured foods e.g. white fleshed fish.
Comment: If any style of oil needs a really dark glass bottle is this one. With presumably very low polyphenols and in a small container size, one would think that dark glass would be the obvious choice to retain freshness. I’m sure that an olive oil marketer will tell me some day soon that EVOO in clear glass sells better – but what about doing the right thing by the consumer after they purchase the oil?
